"Mallard in the rain"

One quiet, rainy morning last Spring, I captured this male mallard duck floating peacefully in a nearby pond.  Other frames included multiple ducks, but I liked this one best. (Nikon D200 DSLR with Nikkor 400 mm f 3.5 lens)
"Red-Breasted Woodpecker"

This woodpecker, a less frequent visitor to the feeder, made an appearance nevertheless, one day last Spring when I was "armed and ready" (Nikon D200 digital SLR with a 400 mm f 3.5 Nikkor telephoto lens and 1.5x teleconverter).
"Whitetail Deer Fawn"

My wife spotted this fawn hiding in the grass during our visit to Garden in the Woods, Framingham, Mass, this past Spring.  Its only movement while we watched, was occasional turn of its head.  Momma was nowhere to be seen.(Nikon D200 DSLR with a Micro-Nikkor 200 mm lens).
"Monarch Butterfly on Coneflower"

Spring, my favorite time of year, yielded this shot of a monarch feeding on a coneflower in our apartment complex. (Nikon D200 digital SLR with 200 mm Micro-Nikkor lens).
"Canada Profile"
An uncommon view of a Canada goose in profile as it gathered with ducks and gulls near the one small pool of open water available on this otherwise frozen reservoir.
(Nikon D200 digital SLR with 400 mm f 3.5 Nikkor lens).

Below, a chipping sparrow perches handsomely amongst Spring greenery.
A white breasted nuthatch strikes an interesting pose...  (Nikon D300 digital SLR with Nikkor 400 mm f 3.5 lens with 1.4x teleconverter).
A tiny pearl crescent butterfly, with a wingspan of about one inch across.
